The Scorpion, synonymous with the desert, covering long distances of inhospitable terrain, thrives in hostile environments, seemingly docile, but then ambushing and striking without warning its unsuspecting prey.  This is also a very appropriate description of the vaunted East Mojave Heritage Trail (EMHT), covering 733 miles of rugged terrain in one of the most hostile environments on earth, it is the longest desert backcountry exploration route in North America. Completing this route is an accomplishment worthy of letting others know you did it. The decals and patches are in recognition of completing each of the four segments.

The EMHT: It’s only easy, until it isn’t.
